Dark Queen of Misthalyn
[SN: within x shadow]
[website]
Born to the late King, Liam Kavanagh and Misthalyn's Wiccan beauty, Queen Dierdre, Islene and Aislinn were born only moments apart during a beautiful sunset when the sun was not fully passed the horizon, masking the lands in half light and half shadow. Islene was the first born, said to have been bathed in a golden basin while the last rays of sunlight washed over her skin. Aislinn followed behind her twin only six minutes after, gently cleansed in a silver basin as it was said her appearance into the world fully brought the sun down to set and caused night to temporarily rule the sky.
As much as they looked alike, they were completely different, but that did little to separate them or weaken their close bond with each other. Islene being shy and quiet most of the time, Aislinn is not afraid to speak her mind and express her opinions on matters, even when they aren't needed. Defiant, yet secretive, she yearns to prove that the darkness does not always associate with the evil in the world. Aislinn wanted to show that she would not fall to the black magick as their mother had...She was stronger than that. She wanted to use such a gift to help her kingdom...And with this desire came a mage from a distant land.
Orion Valentus, dark mage of the black arts...The very aura of him was intoxicating and Aislinn knew he possessed the power to teach her all that she wished. But questions remained...Would she be able to handle it? Would it be her downfall? Is it possible to use such dark power for good? Time together lead to attraction, and attraction lead to love. A son born and a prophecy had begun, leaving the fate of Misthalyn on Aislinn's shoulders. After a long battle, defying the gods, Aislinn's son, Lusius is safe in her arms...but Orion no longer was.
Light Queen of Misthalyn
[SN: within x light]
Islene was the first daughter born to the late King, Liam Kavanagh, and Queen Deirdre. Islene was born during the last few moments that the sunlight’s rays washed over the earth. Her twin sister Aislinn followed only six minutes later. It is said that her appearance bought the sun down fully to rest as night washed over the sky.
Islene and Aislinn looked alike except for the color of their eyes. Their appearance was nearly the same, but they were different as night and day. These differences; however, could not stop the bond they shared, they could even speak to one another within their minds. Aislinn was the more outgoing one, not afraid to speak her mind, where Islene was the shyer, more reserved one. Since the death of their mother, Islene had always been afraid that similar fate w ould befall her sister, it was her greatest fear. She knew her sister was not evil, but she feared for her none the less.
That fear came full swing when a dark mage came into their lives, Orion Valentus. Islene feared loosing her sister more then ever. It was at this time the prophecy that the birth of Aislinn’s son would bring darkness and destroy the kingdom was given. Islene feared for the kingdom and her sister, but at the birth of her nephew, Lusius, she felt some hope, perhaps there was no truth to the prophecy?
However, after about a month, signs of the prophecy began to emerge, and Islene herself felt herself weaken. It was small at first, but as time wore on, it became more and more apparent. As the light weakened more, the former god of the dead, Donn, captured the Lusius bringing him to the underworld to complete the prophecy. However, Misthalians banded together and with the help of other deities retrained the Donn to his realm, and rescued Lusius. This broke the prophecy and restored the balance of light and dark.
Donn continued to try and take Misthalyn down and gain control. When one thing failed him, he moved on to another plan. Donn took Islene, and trapped her down in the underworld, leaving Misthalyn without the balance of light it needed. Islene was trapped and she was almost to the point of death when Aine rescued her and deliver her back to Misthalyn, as the war was beginning to rage. Islene however, severally weakened and unconscious, was powerless to help with the raging war.
