the ORDER of the VALIANT DEFENSE

Arch Triaus

Commander
[SN: blazethepilot]

A wise man once said that the best knights were “one part brave and three parts fool.” This man knew well of what he was saying, for that is what most knights are. But sometimes there are knights that are too foolish for there own good. But before we go into detail about one knight, we must first know of this mans lands and myths and legends.

In the farthest realms of man there is an empire that has the strongest users of magic’s one can think of. They live side by side with the mighty dragons, some even being entrusted with the spirits and powers of the dragons themselves. This is the dragoonic empire, and the knights of whom I speak are known as Dragoons. The empire was forged in pain and blood, men having driven off their enemies by allying themselves with the dragons.

At the end of this battle the first dragoons gave their lives to save the newfound empire, but this was not to be the end of the dragoons. It was many hundreds of years and the people of the empire had forgotten about the dragoons when evil struck them at there core, an enemy once thought dead returned and nearly drove the empire to it’s knees. It was then that the divine dragon, king of all dragons, revealed himself and gave his life, splitting his spirit into seven parts, one for each of the magical elements. It was then that I legend was formed; the one to unite the seven parts would be entrusted with the divine dragons spirit.

The war having been won and the Dragoons having returned hundreds of years passed and with each year the number of Dragoons grew. The empire grew content over the years and a new evil set it’s gaze upon the empire, but this time it was from within. It was during this era that Arch Triaus came into life. He was the son of the Supreme Councilor, the leader of the Dragoonic Empire, in the empire’s capital city of Gloranio. He was raised by the code of the warrior, never having a childhood that was normal. His father forced him to become a knight in service to the Empire when he came of age, since he had little chance of becoming a Dragoon himself.

For years he fought for and served his Empire with honor and pride. Then upon his twenty-fifth year of birth he took it upon himself to be tested to see if he could become a Dragoonic knight. He stood in the hall of spirit for weeks on end, testing each spirit to see if it would choose him. He finally came down to the oldest of the spirits his people knew of, they though it to be the spirit of the snow dragon lawratha, but they had been far from it. It was one of the seven spirits of the divine, the spirit of light. It chose him to be it’s knight and thus the legend of his people had started to become truth.

The months following his induction into the dragoonic knights, Arch had quickly mastered the arts of fighting in air and the use of beginner’s levels of light magic. He rose threw the ranks of the rookie knights quickly, his skills in combat fair out matching those of the other knight’s in his class. After ten years as a rookie dragoon he was ascended to the level of Dragoonic knight, gaining the next they’re of magic and increased strength and speed. He was also given a dragons egg, in which his dragon Solaro was soon hatched from.

Together with Solaro, dragon of the northern star, he trained for years, mastering his new found powers. They fought in several wars for the empire, expanding its borders to twice the size of that of when it was founded. It was during this time that he learned of the legend of the divine dragon. During his final fight in the seventh war he was forced to watch as his commanding officer was slaughtered by the sworn enemy of the empire, the vamperic legion. When the fighting was over and the battle won Arch was stunned to find out that he had one of the seven spirits of the divine because his commander also had one of the spirit, the spirit of thunder. The two spirits merged and he became the second knight in his people’s history to begin to merge the spirits of the divine. Days after the two spirits merged Solaro under went a coming of age ceremony, transcending into the next level f growth, becoming Solarsis of the northern night sky.

Two years passed after the final war in which he took place in when he first started to notice the darkness that was beginning to fall upon his home. Threw various means he discovered that the very empire he had given his life to protect had made a pact with their sworn enemies, the Vamperic Legion lead by lord Angelus. His own father had opened the borders of the empire and allowed the darkness to befall his own lands. Arch stood against the darkness along with hundreds of other dragoons. Their numbers however were small when compared to those of the Vampires and the Dark dragoons, knights who had chosen to ally themselves with the corrupt council and the vampire legion. The battle was long and hard for those that fought for the light, but to no avail, for the side of light lost and the remaining knights were forced into exile or hunted down and killed. During his flight from the empire, Arch obtained his dragoonic kanatana from a master dragoonic smith who had forged the blade and honed its edge and power to a lethal and dark precision. The blade lusted for battle and seemed to have a mind of it’s own, but that is a story for another day.

Year passed and Arch had gained much in the matters of strength and wisdom, learning some of the dragoons most powerful and deadly secrets. He then found out about the rebel faction that was fighting for the freedom of his homeland. He joined their ranks as a common foot solider, not letting his past is known to the higher ranking rebel members or the leaders of the rebellion. Then when they were on the verge of defeat he revealed himself, turning the tides of the fight in favor of the rebels.

With his help they repelled the dark dragoons and Vampires at every point. He quickly rose threw the ranks of the rebels, becoming their leader in under a year of fighting. It was only after another six months that the rebels were on the doorstep of the capital city of Gloranio. Arch lead the siege himself, rushing head long into the fray when he knew they had to kill his father in order to win the war. In the final fight of the war, Arch did something he had been told never to do, he opened a portal to another dimension and banished his father and his dragon, Darkfire, into a limbo like place, where neither time nor the needs of the human body mattered, only pain existed.

Over the next 50 years his people rebuilt there empire, and newly elected High Council had taken it upon themselves but to banish him for his action of banishing his father into another dimension. It was then that he started to wander the realms. Upon his entrance into his exile his title of High Imperial knight of the empire was stripped from him as well. As he began to wander the realms he learned much in his first hundred years, mastering every form of combat that he came across, but he also began to lose himself, little by little, with no friends nor allies that he trusted with the fact of who he truly was.

Then, over time, he began to train student whom he thought had the abilities to become something great in their own homelands. Among them were his greatest students, a man named Jay Scar, A man that he saw great things for in his future. But as with everything else during his exile, he stopped training knight’s right after Jay Scars training was completed. He then focused upon learning the deepest and darkest secrets of the dragoons, writing all that he learned down in a journal that he hide later on in his life.

It was during this training that he caught wind of Jay Scar once more, and followed the rumors to a land called Misthalyn. This time however Jay was the one in charge, as he had become the Commander of the Valiant defense and Arch had become a captain of the same order. He spent months in the kingdom, perfecting all of the powers and techniques that he had begun to teach himself before arriving on Misthalyn’s shores. But the peace in this land was short lived, as soon darkness had fallen upon the land. Out of the abyss came the black horde, they nearly wiped out the lands of Misthalyn had not the men and woman of the kingdom stood and fought them. He was among those who fought, Solarsis by his side they assisted in every battle that they could, helping repel the darkness.

After the war with the Horde ended he became the Commander of the Valiant Defense, Jay scar having left the lands of Misthalyn for parts unknown to him. It was during this time that he received a call to return home to his homeland of the Dragoonic Empire. A dark dragoon had taken control of the entire empire and had placed a twisted and corrupt high council in power. His return home was that of a lost heroes, the people of the land no longer shunned him and knew that he was the only hope of restoring justice to there homes. He wasted little time upon his return, storming the capital city within weeks of his return. And just as he had the first time he banished another dark dragoon and his dragon into a void.

Unlike last time however he was hailed as a hero by the empire. His former rank and title were restored to him and Solarsis went threw his final rite of passage, becoming Solarith. This rite of passage came at a cost however, as a powerful spell needed to be cast, a spell that took both of them two weeks to cast and the end result was a change of gender, Solarith had changed from a male to a female. The change was one the must had been done, for in order for Solarith to surpass the first dragon of lights powers she had to become the same gender as that dragon.

Arch lead his people for a number of years before he stepped down. Days after stepping down from his position the council turned on him once again, seeing his actions as a sign of weakness, and they forced him into exile once more. But this time he returned to Misthalyns shores and became the commander of the Valiant Defense once more. Time passed and he saw things changing within the kingdom, for the worst, as he knew it. So he opened the void that he had cast the second dark dragoon into, and he fought the person once more, this time killing the man know as Sethion Niobe, only to find out that the spirit he had was the spirit of the jade wind dragon, one of the seven divine spirits. He took the spirit and allowed it to fuse with his own, but he knew it would not be enough to stem the on coming darkness.

Then he was recalled once more to his homeland, and it was there that the Dragoonic high council gave him the fourth spirit of the divine, the spirit of the water dragon. They gave him the spirit hoping to make amends for forcing him into exile. Instead he took the spirit and told them they were all corrupt vile beings and told them that next time he returned they had better not have been the ones to summon him like some lap dog, for he would hunt them all down and kill them himself. To say the least he went rogue from his own people, not caring what happened to them now. His considers his homeland to be Misthalyn, for he foresees great things for this kingdom and it’s people.

So soon at birth, the boy was already exiled for simply being born half blood; half Shannaron, and half Geltic, he was a successful experiment. The boy was left with the castle servants to be dealt with, taken care of until further notice. Five years later, not knowing his own age, the boy was proving his Geltic strength and Shannaron agility; able to lift stone blocks to build houses and small businesses, jumping with the stones to reach the higher targets. At the age of ten, he gathered the strength and courage to escape his captors; only to be captured again. As further punishment for his actions he was thrown into the Geltic Arena to be slaughtered by their prized warrior; it was to be his honorable death. The boy was already injured prior to the match, being beaten and tortured by the prison guards; a task handed to them for recovering the run-away half-breed. Of course, he wished for death but never allowed himself to die; it was his will to live that kept him going, even through his tough life. The battle between him and the winged War Beast was treacherous; dodging the sharp, serrated fangs attempting to tear flesh from bone (if not trying to take bone with it).

Though the battle went to his favor, it wasn't without a critical price. He had survived the match, with serious injuries and what was to come next wouldn't be much better. Thankful to at least have the time to heal, more pain would come to the boy as the king himself took to the task of torture. Seven years treaded by slowly (each day felt like eternity), but the king was finally growing tired of his new pet, and another experiment was set into play; the called for the boy's father. Draining the boy of his blood, and fusing the rest with his father's blood; a Shannaron myth put to the test. The experiment was successful, the boy became a younger version of his own father; though his heart was slowly fading, not able to take the strain. Shadow called out to him, he said one thing, one word: Shade. A name of his own was finally given to him, and then his last breath was taken.

Dead. Waking in the After Life. He didn't know where he was, only that it didn't feel right, he didn't want to be there; there was nothing in this realm that he wanted. He fought to get his life back, return to the realm he was once in, there were unfinished business that needed attending to. Szha'verah, Guardian of Life, granted his wishes, but the power of the pact came with a price and the guardian sought out his heart. Reawaking to the realm he knew, his body being dragged off; his new power overcame him and freedom was just around the bin. He found his knew life, made a living with the people he met before. It was good to be alive... and free.
